Get Gaming: Experience for the Real World

As James Paul Gee showed us in his book “What Video Games Have to Teach Us About Learning and Literacy“, there are alot of useful real life tools that a young player can take away from their gaming experience. Sashay had mentioned a book to me earlier this week about another good book about the (positive) effects games can have on children (how the CBC presented the book) called.

It seems this new book “Got Game: How the Gamer Generation Is Reshaping Business Forever” looks at the effectiveness of video game skills in everyday life work environments, and how a new generation of workers means a new work structure and ethic (social theory anyone?!).

Terra Nova has a piece on the book. Looks like an interesting read – looking forward to the thread developing.
