A few years ago, had anyone said that the sales of video games could easily eclipse the box office draw of a major Hollywood blockbuster with big name stars, we would have laughed at them.

We would have laughed, and we would have been wrong.

According to Wired magazine, Microsoft is expecting to see sales of its Halo 2 game reach $100 million. On the first day of release.

Proof that, not only is Halo 2 considered by academics to be the pre-eminent first-person shooter but it is also simply a great game according to the masses of players out there.
